Lately we have so many things happening in the news that have made many people realize that Islamophobia is on the rise.  Many people are probably wondering what is Islamophobia?  Islamophobia is prejudice and/or hate against Islam or Muslims.

Islamophobia has been on the rise in many countries, such the US, UK, France, Germany, Canada, China, etc, since 9/2011.  However, it is getting only worse year by year.

I would think as time goes by we heal, and we educate ourselves on why things happen, and then blame those who are to blame versus blame an entire Religion or an entire Race of people.  However the opposite response has taken place.

One instance of Islamophobia  is when Pastor Terry Jones wanted to have “Burn A Koran Day.”  For him to start with hate t-shirts against Islam, and then to want to burn the Quraan was sort of funny to me.  I thought to myself how much time must this man have to organize, plan, and plot a hateful event.  Can hatred make one so passionate, and unfortunately the answer is Yes.

Here is the irony of all of this, while Pastor Terry Jones was planning to do all this, one thing that he did not realize was that the Quraan also had the names of many people taht he worshiped.  Pastor Terry was a Christian, and he believes in Jesus Christ, his mother Mary, Abraham, Noah, Jonas, Joseph, and many more prophets (Peace Be upon All Of Them), He did not realize in this book called the “Koran” all of these people plus more were mentioned in high esteem.  So while he is saying that he is a man of God, how come he would burn their names, and their stories?  The Quraan (proper spelling), speaks of all of the messengers of God in high esteem, and respect.  I could understand if we were slandering them, and he was angry, but yet it is the opposite.  Alhamdullilah (All Praise is To God) that he was unable to burn them.  However, it made me extremely sad to see so many people following his story and cheering him on.  I was sad to see so many people waste their energy on things that bring them no benefit.  Instead they could be doing something great with their lives.

My dearest sisters and brothers in humanity, it is time to educate, and gain knowledge.  This is the only way that we will defeat hatred, racism, prejudice, and fear.  it is time to live in peace with all of the creation of the Almighty.  The only way we will obtain that is by getting to know one another, and having tolerance and patience for each other.

Do Muslims Believe In Jesus Christ (Peace Be Upon Him)?

Muslims think that Jesus (PBUH) was one of the greatest messengers of Allaah (SWT)- God the Greatest. Islam is the only other religion that believes in Jesus Christ (PBUH), his miraculous birth, and his miraculous abilities. Islam also believes in Moses (PBUH). Allaah (God the Greatest) had sent down the Torah as well as the Gospel. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was sent as the final messenger to all of mankind.

“Say, we believe in God and that which was revealed unto us, and that which was revealed unto Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob, and the tribes and that which was entrusted unto Moses and Jesus and the Prophets from their Lord We make no distinction between any of them and unto Him we have submitted”.
(The Quran=n 3:84)

“Jesus was born miraculously through the same power that had brought Adam into being without a father: “Truly the likeness of Jesus with God is as the likeness of Adam. He created him of dust and then said to him, ‘Be!’ and he was.”
(The Quran 3:59)

We also believe that Jesus’s mother Mary (PBUH) was one of the purest women in the world. She was chosen to give birth to Jesus (PBUH) without any man ever touching her.

“Behold! the angel said: ‘God has chosen you and purified you and has chosen you above the women of all nations. O Mary! God gives you the good news of a word from Him, whose name shall be Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, honored in this world and the hereafter, and one of those brought near to God”.
(The Quran 3:42)

As a matter of fact Chapter 19 in The Quraan is all about Mary (PBUH).

During the time that Jesus (PBUH) was sent on his mission, Jesus (PBUH) performed many miracles. The Qur’an tells us that he said:

“I have come to you with a sign from your Lord: I make for you out of clay, as it were, a figure of a bird, and breathe into it and it becomes a bird by God’s leave. And I heal the blind, and the lepers, and I raise the dead by God’s leave.”
(The Quran 3:49)

None of the messengers, Muhammad (PBUH) nor Jesus (PBUH) came to change the belief in One God, brought by earlier prophets, but to confirm and renew it. Jesus (PBUH) is reported as saying in the Quran that he came:

“To attest the law which was before me. And to make lawful to you part of what was forbidden to you; I have come to you with a sign from your Lord, so fear God and obey me.”
(The Quran 3:50)

What do Muslims believe in?

I get this question often, what do you guys believe in?  Is it the sun god that you worship, the moon god, the black stone in Mecca?  What is that you guys believe in?

Well here it goes, ready or not…….I like short and sweet posts, so that is how I will keep mines, inshAllaah (God-Willing)

Islam is the name of the religion that Muslims believe in.  What does Islam mean?  Islam means peace and submission to the Creator and His Creation.

So what do Muslims believe in?

Muslims believe in the One true God; in the Angels that He has created; in the prophets through whom His revelations were brought to mankind; in the Day of Judgment.  As a Muslim each individual is accountable for his or her own actions.

Muslims believe in all of the prophets starting with Adam and including Noah, Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Job, Moses, Aaron, David, Solomon, Elias, Jonah, John the Baptist, and Jesus, (Peace be upon them all). But God’s final message to man, a reconfirmation of the eternal message and a summing-up of all that has gone before was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad through Gabriel.

So what this means to you is that Muslims believe in the One God (Allaah) who created the heavens and the earth.  The same God who had sent all of His previous messengers to mankind to guide them to the straight path.  The same God who says that each one of use will be held responsible for our own actions on the Day of Judgment.

“Say: We believe in God and in what has been revealed to Abraham, Ismail, Isaac, Jacob, and the tribes, and in [the books] given to Moses, Jesus and the prophets from their Lord: We make no distinction between one and another among them, and to God do we submit in Islam.” (The Quraan, Chapter 3: Verse 84)
